Given the international relevance of democracy in France and worldwide, the Sénat in Paris had selected my work for this exhibition from 11 to 22 September 2024.
The visitors literally came from all over the world, strolling through the Jardin du Luxembourg and stopping by, but also Parisians inviting friends and family to see the exhibition once they had liked the idea and the paintings.
The 32 paintings were represented in the very spacious and luminous Orangerie, giving them enough space to be contemplated with calm and reflection on each subject.
For the official reception, the Head of Office of the former German President, Christian Wulff, read his greetings in French and German.
The Fond Citoyen Franco-Allemand supported the project and also contributed in an opening speech.
I was extremely happy to see how much the topic touched people, wherever they came from. I had comments in my guest book in languages as different as Farsi, Arabic, Korean, Chinese, and I had guests from Latin America, the US and of course many European countries. Visitors from Russia were as much concerned as from Ukraine, and I was invited to Canada, also facing the problem of populism.
