I started painting the Hambacher Schloss, the German "cradle of Democracy", at the beginning of September. It is a beautiful, calm and almost spiritual place. The trees were still green, but when I had time to continue the painting at the beginning of October, the colours had changed to bright red and some yellow, and the sky was of an intense blue.
Finishing now, at the beginning of November, some trees had lost their leaves already, and the clouds "painted" the sky in an entirely different athmosphere.
It has been a great experience, up in the mountain, and with a warm welcome from the staff of the Hambacher Schloss.
