Born in Canada and raised in Germany, Lisa Schoefer studied drawing, painting and fashion at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. For the next ten years, she painted in Spain.

Today she works in Strasbourg, Berlin and Valldemossa / Mallorca and is inspired by the magic and light of the different places.

She adapts her techniques to the dynamics of the prevailing colours and shapes - acrylic for the lightness of the south, oil for the deep contrasts of the north and watercolour for the details of the architecture.

​

The current field of experimentation (project) is important architecture integrated into its surroundings,  especially in Berlin with its new government buildings and the changed city silhouette, thirty years after the German reunification.

Painting outside and directly in situ with the current light and weather conditions is her trademark and favourite work process. She is also fascinated by the movement of the human figure in dance and polo, precise portraits as well as the interplay of colour and musicality in each composition.
